horses moved and an another project to start

well moving the horses was a bit more of a challenge than I thought, the pasture where they went to needed repair so I have been out there with a hammer and fencing staples going along the barb wire fence adjusting the fallen strands of wire and setting it back in place

I only have a 2 horse trailer for the horses so trying to load them all at once was not even a option. I have 3 horses here that have never loaded only time was to come here. so we made a chute out of a round pen panels and to help the horses easy into the trailer. I put oats in the trailer to coax the horses in but a couple were on to us and refuse....as usual our 2 auction mutt mares looked at everyone and jumped in and started eating the oats we closed up and away we went. got them unloaded and they were thrilled after looking around a bit they dove into the thick lush pasture.

we then went back to moving the rest of the horses. after they were  ll moved I looked at the time, it took me 4 hours to move them move the water container. now back to the rural water station to fill 200 gallons of water into the water container to go and fill it up at the pasture by the end of the day we were tired and hungry and when we went home I was feeling a bit lost with out the horses being out front. I already missed watching them from the deck cruising around eating and playing. But this is really needed our pasture is down to nothing and it needs time to grow back.

I am up late today the lamb has been bottle fed the dogs fed and the chickens let out for the day now I have to run down to the store and get some grass seed for the pasture here that I worked up last night with the harrows and plant some more seed and let it grow. I also have a few more eggs this morning so I am going down to buy a few parts to make a automatic incubator that we can incubate more than 1-2 eggs at a time and have it regulated better than this little one does. we found some plans on the internet to build one so my husband and I are going to attempt to do this today.

we have to try and retain the cost of the purchase of the eggs and we hope to do this by breeding our own chicks and then buying a rooster here and there so we do not have to put out the cost of buying chicks every year. this is good in theory only incubating eggs seems a bit harder than putting them and and making a chick.

so I will try and get on later tonight and blog a bit about the incubator and how it is working out. seems we are busy doing stuff daily now. I am also in between on the internet trying to find glass windows for the green house I am not buying new trying to find ones that have been replaced by owners so I can reuse material and not buy from a store. so that is all for me until later
